What Do 100 Custom Challenge Coins Cost?

4 min read

A standard order of 100 custom challenge coins runs from about $4.61 to $10.38 per coin depending on the size you choose, plus a one-time mold fee of $140 to $190. For the most common choice, a 2.0 inch coin, that works out to about $5.13 per coin and a $150 mold fee, so a full order of 100 is roughly $663 all in, or about $6.63 per coin once the one-time setup is spread across the batch.

Those are real published prices for our standard coin, not a starting-from teaser. Shipping is already included, and there is no charge until you approve your design. The rest of this page breaks down the numbers by size and explains what is and is not included.

Price Per Coin at 100 Pieces, by Size

The per-coin price is for a standard round coin: die-struck 3D metal, soft enamel filled around the raised metal, full-color UV printing on both sides, antique gold plating, and a standard edge. The mold fee is a one-time setup charge for your custom die, not a per-coin cost, and it is passed through at cost with no markup. Order 300 or more of the same design and the mold fee is waived entirely.

  • 1.5 inch: $4.61 per coin, $140 mold fee
  • 1.75 inch: $4.69 per coin, $140 mold fee
  • 2.0 inch (most common): $5.13 per coin, $150 mold fee
  • 2.5 inch: $6.82 per coin, $160 mold fee
  • 3.0 inch: $8.12 per coin, $170 mold fee
  • 3.5 inch: $10.38 per coin, $190 mold fee

What the Price Includes

Because shipping is absorbed into the per-coin price, the number you see is the number you pay for the coins themselves. The only separate line on a standard order is the one-time mold fee.

  • Free shipping to you (it is built into the per-coin price, so there is no separate shipping line)
  • A free digital proof of your design, front and back, before anything is produced
  • Revisions to the proof as part of the process, not an added charge
  • Full-color UV printing on both sides, with soft enamel filled around the raised metal
  • Antique gold plating, which many shops charge extra for

What Can Change the Price

A few choices move the total up or down. Ordering more coins lowers the price per coin and, at 300 or more, waives the mold fee. A laser-engraved edge, such as text or serial numbers around the rim, adds $0.35 per coin with no setup fee. Custom non-round shapes, sizes outside the standard grid, and premium finishes are quoted by hand rather than priced automatically, because they depend on the specific design.

The size and quantity calculator on our challenge coins page shows the exact per-coin price for every size and quantity break, so you can compare options before you commit to anything.
