Custom Patches: Minimum Order and What They Cost

The minimum order for custom patches is 50 pieces. At 50 patches a 3 inch patch is $6.00 each, plus a one-time film fee of $42, so 50 of them come to about $342 all in. At 100 the same patch drops to $4.00 each, and at 500 it is $2.92 each with the film fee waived.

Shipping is included in the per-patch price, and there is no charge until you approve your design. Below is the price by size at each quantity break, what the film fee pays for, and the choices that change the cost.

What the $42 Film Fee Is

Coins and pins are struck from a custom metal mold. Patches use a one-time artwork film made from your design instead. The $42 film fee covers that setup, passed through at cost with no markup. It is charged once per design, not per patch, and it is waived when you order 300 or more of the same design.

Why Small Orders Cost More Each

A patch order carries fixed costs that do not change with quantity: the setup and the shipment from the factory. Spread over 50 patches each one carries a big share of those costs, and spread over 500 the share is tiny. That is why a 3 inch patch is $6.00 at 50 but $2.92 at 500.

If you know you will want patches for new members, replacements, or a second event, ordering a bigger batch now is usually far cheaper per patch than coming back for a small reorder later.
