Custom Bottle Openers: Minimum Order and What They Cost

The minimum order for custom bottle openers is 25 pieces. At 25 openers a 2 inch opener is $9.24 each, plus a one-time mold fee of $100, so 25 of them come to about $331 all in. At 50 the same opener drops to $5.30 each, at 100 it is $3.96 each, and by 200 it is $3.36 each.

What the $100 Mold Fee Is

Each opener is struck from a custom metal mold made from your artwork, the same way a challenge coin is. The $100 mold fee covers cutting that one die, passed through at cost with no markup. It is charged once per design, not per opener, and it is waived when you order 300 or more of the same design.

Why Small Orders Cost More Each

An opener order carries fixed costs that do not change with quantity: the mold and the shipment from the factory. Spread over 25 openers each one carries a big share of those costs, and spread over 200 the share is much smaller. That is why a 2 inch opener is $9.24 at 25 but $3.36 at 200.

If you expect to want openers for new members, a taproom, or a later event, ordering a bigger batch now is usually far cheaper per opener than coming back for a small reorder.
