Custom Belt Buckles: Minimum Order and What They Cost

The minimum order for custom belt buckles is 25 pieces. At 25 buckles a 2 inch buckle is $9.76 each, plus a one-time mold fee of $135, so 25 of them come to about $379 all in. At 100 the same buckle drops to $5.40 each, at 200 it is $4.80 each, and by 500 it is $4.34 each with the mold fee waived.

What the $135 Mold Fee Is

Each buckle is struck from a custom metal mold made from your artwork, the same way a challenge coin is. The $135 mold fee covers cutting that one die, passed through at cost with no markup. It is charged once per design, not per buckle, and it is waived when you order 300 or more of the same design.

Why Small Orders Cost More Each

A buckle order carries fixed costs that do not change with quantity: the mold and the shipment from the factory. Spread over 25 buckles each one carries a big share of those costs, and spread over 500 the share is tiny. That is why a 2 inch buckle is $9.76 at 25 but $4.34 at 500.

If you expect to want buckles for new members, awards, or a later event, ordering a bigger batch now is usually far cheaper per buckle than coming back for a small reorder.
